At one of the Driefontein shafts, Sibanye Stillwater installed a system designed to transport personnel from underground to safety in case of an emergency. The system had some complication during installation & commissioning. Sibanye Stillwater contacted TLJ to assist with the project. The aim was to ensure that the system would work reliably and as intended during an emergency. By using point cloud scan data, TLJ was able to develop a 3D model and simulate the actual operation of the system. TLJ held design reviews with Sibanye Stillwater and modified the system to ensure safe operation.
Project deliverables: Shop detail drawings of affected equipment and conveyances.
